The Merrill Inn is nestled amongst Picton’s most elegant and
historic mansions. Built in 1878, this stately Inn is architecturally
significant for its striking gingerbread and bargeboard trimmed gables. It is
situated on over an acre of beautifully manicured lawns and gardens. Each of the
Inn’s guestrooms and suites are elegantly furnished with period antiques and
luxurious linens befitting of this “Grand Lady of Prince Edward County”.
Dining at the “The Restaurant” is a memorable highlight. Acclaimed chef Michael
Sullivan has crafted a menu utilizing the best of “The County”, from local
produce and cheeses to meats and fish. The Restaurant has been awarded 3 stars
by Toronto Life Magazine as well as a Wine Spectator Magazine Award of
Excellence for the last three years.
The “County” is rich with United Empire Loyalist history and is now well known
as Ontario’s newest wine and culinary destination. The Inn is centrally located
in the heart of Picton and within 15 minutes of the wineries of Prince Edward
County. Outdoor activities include cycling, hiking, golfing, water sports,
cross-country skiing and snowshoeing.
