The Inn

About The Inn

From the moment that you walk through the door, you will know that this historic Inn is truly a special place. Built in 1832 by Charles Richardson, a member of Parliament for Niagara, this luxurious, completely refurbished Inn still retains its inherent dignity and elegance while exuding a friendly intimacy.

Each of the twelve guestrooms has been beautifully decorated and is unique in size, décor and amenities. Many of the rooms have wood burning or gas fireplaces; glass enclosed rain-head showers or jet-air tubs and private verandahs to enjoy the view of Lake Ontario, the golf course or our main street. A luxurious sleep is assured in our feather top beds with down duvets, down pillows and 300 count Egyptian cotton linens.

One of Niagara’s top rated restaurants, the Charles Inn dining room has received positive reviews in “Where to Eat in Canada”, “Wine Spectator” magazine, “Gourmet” and “Toronto Life.” Award winning Executive Chef William Brunyansky offers a culinary style that is French Contemporary infused with an appreciation for the bounty of Niagara.

Whether your plans include a desire for beautifully appointed rooms, extraordinary cuisine and wines, world class theatre, relaxing spa services, or just a need to unwind; expect a memorable experience.

Recently refurbished, each of our twelve guestrooms has been beautifully decorated and is unique in size, décor and amenities. You will feel perfectly relaxed and will be impressed by the Inn's immaculate attention to detail, exquisite taste and style. Many of the rooms have wood burning or gas fireplaces; glass enclosed multi-head showers or whirlpool or claw foot tubs and private verandahs to enjoy the view of the golf course, main street or Lake Ontario. Each feathertop bed promises a luxurious sleep in 300 count  linens, down duvets and down pillows.

Dining The dining room is located in the old parlour and still features its original crystal chandeliers. The room is now painted a warm persimmon colour and offers comfortable upholstered banquettes and wing back chairs along with the more traditional dining chair. Whether taking afternoon tea and scones or savouring a multi-course meal prepared under the culinary direction of Chef William Brunyansky, dining at The Charles is always special. Our wine list features the best that Niagara has to offer including a wonderful selection of ice wines to accompany that special dessert. During the warmer months, a candle lit dinner can be enjoyed on the side verandah which overlooks the gardens and the golf course. After dinner, guests are welcome to enjoy a glass of port or ice wine or perhaps a specialty coffee in the adjoining lounge or sit on the verandah to enjoy the evening sky. The dining room is open seven days a week.
