Beautifully situated at the heart of one of Ontario’s loveliest rural areas, the Waring House has stood sentinel at Waring’s Corners since about 1860. Today, the inn offers the discriminating traveler an opportunity to taste the hospitality and charm of an elegant Ontario home of that bygone era. Meticulously restored and renovated, the inn offers seventeen charming antique-appointed guest rooms. An additional 32 delightful rooms have just opened. Amelia’s Garden dining room and the congenial Barley Room serve exceptional regional cuisine. A hands-on, recreational Cookery School, elegant Banquet/Conference Hall and lovely park-like setting make The Waring House an all-season destination. Spa facilities are available at the nearby affiliated Claramount Inn & Spa.

The Waring House currently offers 49 charming guestrooms: four in the Main House, twelve in the adjacent House Next Door, plus the private Vineyard View Cottage. Inn addition, there are sixteen rooms (eight downstairs and eight upstairs) in each of two new buildings. The individually decorated suites will mainly have either queen-size or king-size beds except for one suite on each floor which will feature two double beds and have a connecting door to the queen-size bed room next door for family and group travel. Desks with Internet access, flat-screen televisions, electric fireplaces, and in-room safes will complement each room. The Waring House is pleased to offer two fully handicap accessible rooms on each ground floor in the new buildings. Many rooms have a fireplace, air-jet tub, hot tub, private walkout deck. All are decorated with antiques, allowing visitors to relax in up-to-date comfort, while surrounded by the charms of yesteryear.

The Waring House offers a seasonally changing menu in its Amelia’s Garden and Prince Edward Room. The cuisine features many of the wonderful foods produced and harvested locally in the County. Executive Chef Luis de Sousa creates an exciting array of dishes that demonstrate the originality and variety of Canadian regional cuisine, and the in-house Pastry Chef produces a selection of delectable desserts and pastries on-site. Special food requests due to allergies, vegetarian preferences, and dietary requirements can be accommodated, especially by prior arrangement. Guests may also enjoy casual fare all day in the Barley Room (where there is live entertainment Wednesday through Sunday evenings) and are invited to choose from a fine selection of local and imported wines by the glass, locally crafted beer and cider, and single malt Scotch.

One of the most important goals at the Waring House is to ensure that guests thoroughly enjoy their visit to Prince Edward County. Many visitors will wish to partake in simple pleasures such as a vigorous walk down the Prince Edward County Millennium Trail that passes directly behind the inn, a casual stroll through the gardens, a game of bocce ball, horseshoes, croquet or badminton.
