L'AUBERGE DES GALLANT

Imagine a place so serene and yet so conveniently close to the heart of Canada's capital.

About The Inn

Spectacular scenery, celebrated regional cuisine and congenial country inn hospitality await guests at l'Auberge des Gallant. Embraced by the rugged Rigaud Mountains, the inn is a tranquil retreat surrounded by pristine forest. The relaxing fireplace lounge, guest rooms, dining rooms and banquet halls are decorated in a luxurious country style that features Quebec antiques and accents. l'Auberge des Gallant garners praise from an international clientele for its exceptional service, creative gastronomy based on quality local ingredients and a diverse wine list. A location midway between Ottawa and Montreal makes l'Auberge des Gallant conducive to business meetings and social gatherings.

Accommodations

Twenty-seven rooms are individually decorated for luxurious country comfort. All guest rooms feature Quebecois regional accents and most rooms have whirlpool tubs and balconies. The guest lounge, dominated by a stone fireplace original to the pioneer farmstead, is a favourite spot for reading, conversation and soaking up the peaceful ambiance. Dining rooms, conference rooms and banquet halls enjoy views of the mountains and the Gallant deer-feeding yard, active during winter.

Dining
l'Auberge des Gallant celebrates regional cuisine through the creative use of regional flavours, including venison, lamb, cheese, maple syrup and farm-fresh produce and herbs. The excellent wine list is cited for its broad offering of varieties from Canada and around the world. During the spring maple syrup season, guests travel from far and wide to enjoy authentic Quebecois country cooking in the Gallant maple pavilion, when maple syrup is highlighted in a variety of hearty dishes served in the sugar bush.

Recreation
On-site facilities include hiking and cross-country ski trails through a bird sanctuary, a fully-equipped exercise room, sauna and outdoor swimming pool. Massage treatments are available by appointment. During the winter, sleigh rides are available on the property.

Local Attractions
Within a short drive, guests may enjoy downhill skiing, snowmobiling, cycling, horseback riding and challenging 18-hole golf courses. Hudson and other charming villages are home to numerous boutiques and art galleries for fine recreational shopping. Autumn foliage season is the time to enjoy country road explorations, both for natural beauty and for fine conditions for hiking and photography. Slightly farther afield are the attractions of both Ottawa, with its fine museums, and Montreal, with its cultural life and historic old town.
